Results from 6/2/10

First and 2nd grade washed out.

3rd Grade vs Bective at Chauvel

City United 71 (Ben Cleghorn 20) lost to Bective East 3-73 (Josh Allen 3-24)
3rds took twenty five overs to get 71, so at least Bective had to raise a sweat. Pat Dwyer, Ben Cleghorn, Cory Callcott and Claude Orenstein stayed for a while but there was never enough on the board. Josh Allen bowled an impressive five over spell as Bective cruised to the win in just ten overs.

4th Grade vs Souths at Minor League 2
City United 7-208 (Mark Chew 66, Terry Skewes 53, Phil Cook 28, John Kennedy 25) defeated Souths 58 (John Kennedy 3-8, Tim Hunt 3-12) and 80 (Steve Johnston 4-12)
An outright win. They're as rare as a Phil Hood smile! Well played Grant and the fourths and done in style too. Those spirited youngsters Chew and Spewe (sorry Skewes) finally showed some form and repayed the faith their Skipper had in them through their junior years. The Run PC Machine was at it again and John Kennedy chimed in with useful runs on the second day. With rain threatening six of the seven bowlers used took wickets but Steve Johnston was the hero with a fourfa. 8 catches held in the second innings ... that's what wins cricket matches!
