Training, no-one can do without it.

City has made some changes to the way we train, the date we train and the venue we train at.

City has also changed its training venue this season to the Riverside nets to allow for more fielding drills to be carried out. City will still have the bowling machine in use every session.

City will commence training early this year, with the first training run set down for Sunday 19th August at 10.00am at Riverside 1. City will continue to train every Sunday morning from 10am at Riverside 2 leading into the first match of the season.

Once the season commences training will convert to Wednesday afternoons starting at 5pm at Riverside 2 nets. City has its own bowling machine and other valued training equipment that will be in full use in the weeks ahead leading into the first match of the season set down for 6th October.

See you there and GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CITY

Coffee Time?

It was great to see Mick Coffey from Addimi Espresso one of our valved supporters and sponsors at our AGM on Monday night. Mick, Dianne and Adrian from Addimi have been associated with City now for a number of years and it’s great to have their support again this season.
In return for their generosity, we ask that you might consider calling in as a way of saying thank you. When you do, present your Addimi card or just say, you are from City United. If you are after the best coffee, the best light meals, the best friendly service in town head down to either one of the Addimi stores located in Peel St. or the newest store in the Guy V Kable Building in Marius Street.

He said that City United will continue to build on its depth of players from last season where three grades played in the semi-finals and hoping for more silverware to be added to the club’s trophy cabinet after 3rd Grade won last year’s One Day final.

The club will continue to promote enjoyment and friendship with in the club which was seen throughout last season.

The club was also thrilled to announce Daniel Whale will again be the first grade captain for the coming season. City had the youngest 1st grade team in the competition last season and will again look to youth as the rebuilding of 1st grade continues this season. 1st Grade’s goal this season is to make the semi-final and see what happens after that.

Kathy addressed the meeting and announced that the club is in a strong financial position and will be endeavouring to keep the season fees as affordable as possible.
