At training

At training on Wednesday Sugar was talking about next season and his prediction on where our 2nd Grade may finish on the ladder.  Sugar said with confidence “If we pick up a few new players and play well, without any injuries we should finish in the top six.”

Talking of 2nd Grade, Mark Fisher captain of our 2nd Grade side after reading yesterday’s poem and  the realization that the South’s bowling attack might read it, sent me a text just with the three words “I’m batting 11”
GOOOOOOOOO should be a fun day down at 2nd's CITY

At City

Growing up in the country you play a lot of sport
fun thing to do with mates, using a bat and ball of course

and here at City there is still one match yet to be played,
So bring with you your goals, and leave your doubts away
Whether you think you can or can’t, you certainly will find
Cause we have captains that never say die

They will give you the space to reach for the sky.
We play south's that are tough and they are good
But we will play to our best and that's all you can ask
As little do they know we are ready to kick some a**.

GOOOOOOOOOOOO all the best on the weekend gentlemen CITY

A message from the President

The regular season is fast coming to an end with the final match starting this weekend. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all City United players for their efforts and their commitment to City United this season.

I realize that I have asked alot from our players this season especially players from our 1st and 2nd Grade squads.

City lost a large number of players from last year’s 1st Grade team and as a result I have asked many players this season to play in a Grade higher then what should be asked of them. I have received no complaints from our players over this issue and I am greatly appreciative of this.

To both Peter Mead in 1st Grade and Mark Fisher in 2nd Grade who took the captaincy roles during trying times, you are a credit to our club. You both have brought your teams together, both teams are competitive on the field and you have formed a close team bond off the field.

Our Third Grade side have played themselves into the Semi-finals. Trent and his squad should be congratulated for this achievement.

Our mighty Fourth Grade side under Anthony are playing some amazing cricket without the results going their way. They are still in mix with the final match to be played.

With the final match approaching, I wish everyone all the very best of luck.

Terry Skewes.

He made it !!!!!!!!

Arise Sir Neil as you are the first City United player to score a century this season, not only did he achieve his century but he continued on using his cricket bat as his sword cutting through the deliveries with a personal score of 135 runs.  Well done and congratulations to you.

Neil Cooke shown here with his very proud sons.

Our other player who was in with a good change of scoring a ton himself was Tom Fitzgerald. Unfortunately Tom was only able to add additional four runs to his score from last week. But his 3rd Grade team were able to gain massive points in a out-right win over West in a wonderful team effort.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thirds are chasing a semi-final place CITY
