1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade Cancelled - 4th Still ON

CUCC 1st, 2nd & 3rd grade games today have been cancelled due to the weather and condition of pitches due to rain last night - these game will be played as 80 over matches next Saturday.

4th grade matches are still ON at this stage, lets all get down the minor league fields and cheer on our 4th grade players!

Ryan Hansen 100 Reasons to Smile

Ryan's score of 100 off 133 balls helped guide the Tamworth 16s rep team to victory in the North West Junior Cricket Association Under 16s final played at Riverside 1.

Tamworth hit 7/224 off their 50 overs and dismissed Coonabarabran/Quirindi for 99 in 39 overs. Quite a decisive victory.

Ryan also received a trophy for the highest batting aggregate this season in the NWJCA under 16s competition.

Ryan opened the batting with fellow City player Tim Paynter who together put on an opening partnership of 63 runs for the first wicket. Good to hear lads!

City United teams to play West Tamworth in round 15 Two Day matches Saturday 3rd & 10th March. All players are requested to be at there respective grounds by 1230pm. Round 14 Results vs South Tamworth

1st Grade
Day 2 and Souths resumed their first innings, finally being dismissed for 166 in the 50th over. An overall lead of 57 runs.
Best bowling: Jake Philp 3/66 off 17 overs; Steve Ballantine 2/34 off 8 overs; Leo Steyn 1/0 off 1 over.
City were soundly beaten in the second innings only amassing a score of 65 after Souths young speedster, Angus McNeill took 8/25 off 13 overs.
Best batting: Daniel Lawrence 25 runs; Bill North 16 runs in his last game for City United; Richie O’Halloran 11 runs.
Souths required only 7 runs and 2 overs to beat City outright.

2nd Grade
In reply to City United’s first innings total of 151, Souths were dismissed for 125 in 34 overs on day 2.
Best bowling: Jacob Hawley 5/26 off 13.4 overs; Simon Bellamy 2/43 off 9 overs; Brock Hawley 1/12 off 5 overs.
City took first innings points.
City batted a second time and were dismissed for 129 in 35 overs.
Best batting: David Weekes 39 runs; Sean Hancock 24 runs; Richard Ingram 16 runs.
Souths were left to chase down 156 runs off 28 overs and in doing so they claimed an outright win. They finished the day at 4/162.
Best bowling: Brock Hawley 2/41 off 8 overs; Jacob Hawley 1/40 off 9 overs.

3rd Grade
City resumed batting day 2 chasing a further 210 runs, with some good partnerships with Peter and Cory and then Cory and Dave in the end City fell 20 runs short, but the lads had a good hard dig with the bat.
Best Batting: Cory Callcott 53 runs; Peter Mead 40 runs; John Miskle 31 runs
Best Bowling: Dan Mitchell 24-8-2-36; Peter Mead 10-2-2-36; Glenn Ryan 12-3-2-42; Dave Carrol 12-2-2-46
In Souths 2nd innings City had them 6/128

4th Grade
City continued on Day 2 batting in their first innings and reached a total of 187 off 71 overs. A lead of 82 runs and taking first innings points.
Best batting: Terry Skewes 58 runs; Mark Chew 54 runs; Tim Skewes 21 runs.
At the end of the day’s play, Souths reached 9/141 off 47 overs.
Best bowling: Paul Lawrence 4/14 off 7 overs; Terry Kampe 1/24 off 11 overs; Nick Stacey 1/26 off 6 overs; Tom Fitzgerald 1/18 off 5 overs; Tim Paynter 1/ 4 off 2 overs.
