Results from the weekend’s finals games

2nd Grade -  City v Wests
City lost the toss and were sent out to field.
Wests were dismissed for a total of 53 runs off 29 overs.
Best bowling:  Neil Cooke 5/11 off 7 overs; Terry Kampe 3/16 off 14 overs; Simon Bellamy 2/1 off 1 over.
In reply City were dismissed for a total of 143 runs in the 55th over.
Best batting:  Jake Philp 37 runs; Chris Langston 29 runs.
City held a 90 run lead after the first innings and both teams were required to bat a second time.
Wests were dismissed for a total of 122 runs in the 46th over in their second innings.
Best bowling: Terry Kampe 5/24 off 13 overs; Jake Philp 2/18 off 5.5 overs.
City required 33 runs for an outright victory which openers, Sean Hancock and Mark Fisher reached in the 13th over.
Congratulations to both Neil Cooke and Terry Kampe on their 5 wicket hauls which ultimately helped set City up for a great victory.
City will now take on Souths next weekend for a place in the grand final against Norths.
3rd Grade – City v Old Boys
City won the toss and elected to bat first.
City were dismissed for a total of 181 in the 68th over.
Best batting:  Peter Mead 48 runs N/O; Brett Walsh 25 runs; Matt Ballantine 22 runs.
In reply Old Boys were dismissed for a total of 136 runs in the 79th over.
Best bowling:  Peter Mead 6/33 off 16.5 overs; Brett Walsh 2/22 off 21 overs.
City went in to bat a second time and the match ended with City 6/130 in the 34th over.
Best batting:  Sam Brown 27 runs N/O; Tait Jordan 19 runs N/O; Brett Walsh 19 runs; Ben Ballantine 19 runs.
City won the match on the first innings and will now have a week off before the grand final.
John “Sugar” Miskle was the talk of the town on Sunday night after some brilliant fielding led to the run-out of danger man, Pat Bryant.  John’s run-out came at a very crucial point in the game and helped swing the match in City’s favour.
4th Grade – City v Old Boys
City lost the toss and were sent out to field.
Old Boys were dismissed for a total of 259 runs in the 69th over.
Best bowling:  Paul Hagley 2/27 off 9.3 overs; Terry Skewes 2/46 off 15 overs; Tom Fitzgerald 2/29 off 10 overs; Gary Whale 2/22 off 5 overs.
In reply City were dismissed for a total of 225 runs in the 88th over.
Best batting:  Terry Skewes 90 runs; Eddie Beattie 29 runs.
City fell 34 runs short on the first innings and will now take on Bective next weekend for a place in the grand final.
Captain, Terry Skewes lead from the front with a “man of the match” performance with both the bat and ball.
