What's doing?

I had a chat with our President - Terry acknowledged the results from last season were outstanding and exceeded everyone’s expectations with success both on and off the field. Terry said that at the beginning of the season, City had high hopes of all 4 grades reaching the finals. Although only 3 of those grades did in fact reach the finals, Terry said that City United will continue to look to the future season and build from that success. He was hoping for more silverware to be added to the Club’s trophy cabinet after 3rd Grade won last year’s Minor and Major Premiership as well as the One Day final. City’s Fourth Grade side also won the Minor Premiership last season.

He said the Club will continue to promote enjoyment and friendship within the Club which was seen throughout last season.

City’s 1st grade team has lost a number of its players from last season and will again look to youth as the rebuilding of 1st grade continues this season. First Grade’s goal this season will be to make the semi-finals and continue to develop the talent of the many juniors within the Club. The Club will also welcome any new players to the club wanting to secure a place in 1st Grade where they can challenge themselves at that high level of cricket.

City will start official training early, with the first training run set down for Sunday 25th August at 10.00am at Riverside 2. City will continue to train every Sunday morning leading in to the first match of the season. Dan Whale has already and will again organise some additional training up to the first official training day for the very keen members. City has its own bowling machine and other valued training equipment that will be in full use in the weeks ahead leading into the first match of the season set down for 12th October against Wests in a One-Dayer.

Players from last years, City V's City pre-season match.
In addition, City is looking forward to playing some pre-season matches against our sister clubs, in both Dubbo and Armidale. The Armidale match will be played in Armidale while the Dubbo pre-season match is hoping to be played in Tamworth.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
the weather is warming up as is the expectation to the season ahead CITY
