Dan the Man

Dan's figures were amazing 5 for 21 off 8 overs
The headlines in today’s Northern Daily Leader reads “Dan the man as City United puts the skids under Souths.”
The article is of City’s 1st Grade side amazing bowling performance on Saturday against the best batting line up in the competition.  It continues –“It only took 15 overs for City United’s Dan Lawrence to cause a storm against South Tamworth.”
The afternoon started with Jack McVey bowling Souths Captain Jose Crowe for just seven runs. Before Dan got Troy Osborne to shy one to City’s captain courageous Peter Mead .
Then both Jack and Dan unleashed mayhem on Souths middle order leaving them 7 for 47. Peter Mead said of his two bowlers “The boys were bowling exceptionally well out there today. Both Jack and Dan were bowling full and letting the ball do the work perfectly.”

Jack has been the form bowling in Tamworth this season
Dan was interviewed by the Leaders reporter and although his own personal figures were amazing 5 for 21 off 8 overs he unselfishly praised his opening partner in Jack. Jack has been the form bowling in Tamworth this season, taking plenty of scalps in both Grade and Representative cricket.
Dan said of Jack “It good to have Jack down the other end. He bowls maidens and causes a lot of pressure, he probably deserves some of my wickets today.”

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Growing up in the country you play a lot of sport
fun thing to do with mates, using a bat and ball of course

and here at City there is still one match yet to be played,
So bring with you your goals, and leave your doubts away
Whether you think you can or can’t, you certainly will find
Cause we have captains that never say die

They will give you the space to reach for the sky.
We play south's that are tough and they are good
But we will play to our best and that's all you can ever ask
As little do they know we are ready to kick some a**.  CITY
