“I am here to help out my dad”

Joey Mead is playing in the North West States PSSA Boys Cricket Championships.
Due to work commitments Patrick Dwyer was a late pull-out from 1st Grade on Saturday, meaning the boys only had 10 players.  A SOS message was sent out far and wide “we needed a fieldsman at 1st Grade.” Our President answered the call and waddled onto the field to the applause and laughter from the 1st Graders.
After an over of fielding the Captain Peter Mead had seen enough of the fielding of our President, he looked around for another replacement for our President. On the side line was young Joey Mead, he too had answered the SOS.
Joey was proudly wearing a City shirt that was three sizes too big for him, he had grass stains on his white trousers from the morning Primary School match that he had played.
At the end of the over our President went out to Joey on the side line where Joey said  “I am here to help out my dad” with that he ran onto the field leaving our President thinking we could not have found a better fieldsman for our 1st Grade side.
This week Joey is playing for the North West in the States PSSA Boys Cricket Championships. The carnival is played at The Entrance. Joey will spearhead the attack for his young team. Peter Mead is also the Coach of this Team and we at City, wish Peter and Joey all the best for the week of cricket ahead.

GOOOOOOOOOOOO where we play for the love of it CITY
