Jack McVey continues to show why he is said to be best bowler in Tamworth Cricket.

On Saturday Jack McVey had bowled his heart out for his club, City Rebels in Saturday’s heat at Chaffey Park, finishing with two wickets for 44 runs off 19 overs for his City United side against Bective.
He bowled seven maidens on Saturday and toiled hard all day, through the extreme heat and on a wicket that was described as “a road”.

Jack then backed up on Sunday to represent Tamworth in the  SCG Country Cup at No. 1 Oval where the Tamworth team fell at the first hurdle when humbled by Toronto in a two wicket loss yesterday.
The captain of the Tamworth Team Tom Groth had nothing but praise for City’s young bowler  “The boys dug deep. Jack (McVey) did bowl very well.”
The young paceman McVey was outstanding taking two wickets for 13 runs from his 10 overs.

“I forced him to bowl his 10 overs out, bowled five straight maiden overs to stall the Toronto chase.” Groth said. “He was gone but he kept bowling and he almost bowled our side to an astounding victory.”
