In the first match City went down by one run to Bective, but after that early disappointment City bounced back beating Souths, Old boys and then Norths in the remaining round robin matches. City then meet Old Boys in the semi-final and we were victorious. In the Final against Norths the boys just fell short.
City’s skipper Harrison Kelly lead from the front in his young side which played throughout the weekend. “I thought we played really well to get to the final” Harrison was quoted in the Leader.
Their efforts displayed over the two days by all the players, shows the spirit within City. Thanks must go to the many City supporters who turned up over the two days.
Training is on this Wednesday
afternoon from 5pm at the Riverside 2 Practice nets. All players are requested
to attend as selections will be made after training for the first matches of
the season this Saturday against Wests. Fourth Grade will commence their season
the following week Saturday the 19th.
