Paid Coaching positions

Jeff Simmons from Shaun Brown's Cricket Coaching has contacted City United enquiring if any City United players would be interested in some paid work on 21st and 22nd January helping to conduct Cricket Coaching at Chaffey Park. Happy New Year

We at City would like to wish every player, supporter and their families, a  Happy New Year. Wishing you a fabulous 2013, full of great achievements and experiences.
 City's story of the season is only half written. May you write your  meaningful chapter for that story starting tomorrow at training. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

And the winners are.

At our Christmas party at No1 Oval, three players names were drawn from a hat and had half their season fees refunded back to them. The three players were Ben Semmier, Ben Ballantine and Terry Skewes. Congratulation to these winners and everyone who attended our Christmas thyme BBQ.

The important part of the season is ahead of us.

Looking at the Competition ladder for each Grade on MY-Cricket, City is sitting very nicely. After this short Christmas break we head for home in the final matches of the season before the Semi-Finals. Make no mistake all the other teams will be lifting their performances to either secure or consolidate their place in the Semi-Finals. We at City must also raise our intestacy both at training and on the field. This is the time when we need to train harder, play tougher, play smarter Our Club "GOAL" is still achievable having all four grades making the Semi-Finals. It all starts at Wednesday training on the 2nd January.

The first match after the Christmas break is on the 5th January. Training will resume on Wednesday the 2nd January 2013.

Results from Rd 9 games played against Old Boys on Saturday

1^st Grade: City won the toss and elected to bowl.
Old Boys were dismissed for a total of 101 runs in the 30^th over. Best bowling:  Simon Toyer 4/10 off 3.3 overs; Aaron Dennis 3/15 off 8 overs.
In reply City hit 9/104 off 33 overs. Best batting:  Michael Bellamy 31 runs N/O; Daniel Lawrence 31 runs.
City won on first innings.
What a great night for City United celebrating their Christmas Party watching 1^st grade win under lights on No. 1 Oval?  You can’t get much better than that!  It really was a magical night.
City United currently sits in 5^th position on the ladder with 31.73 point.
Jack McVey is currently the 2^nd highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets.
2^nd Grade: City won the toss and elected to bowl.

Old Boys were dismissed for a total of 88 runs in the 25^th over. Best bowling:  Neil Cooke 6/16 off 8 overs; Pat Dwyer 2/26 off 8 overs; Chris Langston 2/15 of 4.3 overs.

In reply City was dismissed for a total of 86 runs in the 23^rd over. Best batting:  Chris Langston 20 runs;  John Miskle 16 runs; Josh Bennie 14 runs.
City United currently sits in 2^nd position on the ladder with 52.12 points.
Simon Bellamy is currently the 5^th highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets.
3^rd Grade: City won the toss and elected to bat.
City was dismissed for a total of 169 runs in the 40^th over. Best batting:  Peter Mead 73 runs N/O; Cory Callcott 31 runs; Anthony Fitzgerald 16 runs.
In reply Old Boys was dismissed for a total of 110 runs in the 37^th over. Best bowling:  Peter Mead 3/14 off 6 overs; Lachie Cooke 3/20 off 6 overs.
City won on first innings and also gained a bonus point.
City United currently sits on top of the ladder with 78.75 points.
Peter Mead is leading run-scorer with 423 runs.

4^th Grade
City United currently sits on top of the ladder with 56.72 points.

All matches are ON. Both 2nd and 3rd Grade will commence their matches at the usual start time of 1pm. Could these players please be at their grounds no later then 12.30. 1st Grade match has been changed to a Day/Nighter commencing at 3.30pm could players please be at No1 oval no later that 3pm.

Don't forget City United Christmas BBQ at No1 Oval after the matches tomorrow. The Carols In the Park will follow our BBQ (a big thanks to TRC for organizing the Carols for us). All players, supporters and their families are most welcome to attend. Tomorrow there are three big matches of cricket to be played, best of luck to everyone involved.
