City United has a new playing shirt.

Yes. City has a stunning new playing shirt. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. The shirt will be handed out to players at the grounds before play on Saturday.

Talking of Sponsors, the Tamworth Golf Club has come on board to be our major sponsor for the 2014/15 season and beyond. All playing members of City over the age of 18 years are requested to become a social member of the Tamworth Golf Club, forms will be available on Saturday from your captain. It is requested that we do not wear our old club shirts while attending the Golf Club.

Sugar’s Favourite Golf Story
It was a sunny Saturday morning on the Tamworth Golf course, and Sugar was beginning his pre-shot routine, visualising his upcoming shot, when a voice came over the clubhouse tannoy:
'WOULD THE GENTLEMAN ON THE WOMAN'S TEE BACK UP TO THE MEN'S TEE PLEASE.'
Sugar was still deep in his routine, seemingly impervious to the interruption. Again the announcement rang out louder', Would the MAN on the WOMEN'S tee kindly back up to the men's tee.'
Sugar simply ignored the request and kept concentrating, when once more, the man yelled', Would the man on the woman's tee back up to the men's tee, PLEASE.'
Sugar finally stopped, turned, looked through the clubhouse window directly at the person with the microphone and shouted back', Would the person in the clubhouse kindly stop shouting and let me play my second shot'

Training will now take place each Wednesday from 5pm commencing 8th October at which time teams will be selected for our first game to be played on Saturday 11 October for 1st through to 3rd grades only.
Our mighty 4th Grade will commence their season the following Saturday 18 October.
Still need some players to sign up and attend to minimum payment of $70.

                           Who will be singing on the night?
Will it be the Rabbits from Redfern?
Let us tell the story of the greatest team in league.
Founded back in Redfern we've been here a century.
We answer every challenge, we stand in unity.
We wear the red and green!
Glory, glory to South Sydney,
Glory, glory to South Sydney,
Glory, glory to South Sydney,
South Sydney marches on.

 Or will it be the DOGS from Belmore?
t comes from deep inside.
A kind of family pride.
It's true as day is long.
It's brave, it's tough, it's strong.
It's history that makes
The character it takes.
It's power, guts and guile.
A dogged football style.
:
That's why (that's why) we're Bulldogs.
We play (we play) like Bulldogs.
No fear (no fear), we're Bulldogs.
We'll stay (we'll stay) like Bulldogs.

The First Ball of the season for City.

The weather has changed with the warmth of the sun indicating summer is on its way. With only 12 days until the season starts, it’s time to pull those whites out from back of the cupboard to see if they still fit.
Should anybody has not been able to make training and wants to obtain a Registration Form, please contact Treasurer Kathy Lawrence on 0419 490534 email pandklawrence45@hotmail.com or Secretary Nikki Hansen on 0427 826704 email sandnhansen@bigpond.com.

The Very First Ball .
The skipper allocates positions, trying hard to please;
Some for the athletic ones and some for the not.
The bright new ball is tossed around and “kept up” to preserve it.
The fielders clap the batsman in although he doesn’t deserve it.
The wicket keeper bends his knees, the umpires take their station;
The scene is set, the cricket match awaits initiation.
The scorer’s watching , pencil poised, the bowler’s standing tall;
The waiting’s over, “Game on boys”, it’s time for the very first ball.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for the love of it CITY

When cricket was the winner between the two City's

The trail match last Saturday against our “Sister Club “ Armidale City Cricket Club was a huge success. The game was played at Chevual Park with both teams being able to get some valuable time in the middle.  The scoreboard read a win for City United (Tamworth) but the real reason of the match was to blow out some cobwebs with the season proper only a few weeks away. A big thanks must go to Simon Hood who was officiating as umpire and Phillip Hood who scored the match.
Hope to have some photo’s of the match posted in a few days.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO when the two City’s meet CITY.

Our trip to Dubbo.

Dave Smith that wouldn't be another cup of coffee in your hand?
Out at Dubbo last Sunday saw the debut of a young junior for City; Brock Dunn who took his first wicket for the club with the creditable figures of 1 for 29 from his 5 overs. Dan Lawrence and Simon Toyer were the strike bowlers on the day taking six wickets between them. The trail match against the Dubbo Colts was an opportunity for City players to have a bit of a hit and a bowl.
City was able to take players from throughout it's grades, to experience what Dubbo had to offer.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO where the boys did us prond CITY
